"Livingston: The Seat of Creativity," a new art project, kicked off Friday. There will be a reception for the public in June.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Starting last Friday, you may have noticed benches adorned with art around Livingston.

Perhaps they'll encourage you to sit for a spell and enjoy the works of local creators.

The project is called "Livingston: The Seat of Creativity." On May 19, workers adorned benches along South Livingston Avenue with works of art selected by the Arts Council of Livingston.

"We hope everyone will come experience the outdoor art on display, and fully appreciate the artists’ creativity," organizers said. "There is a reception open to all at the Livingston Municipal Building on June 8 from 6:30-8:30. Please join us to view the original artwork that is reproduced on the benches."
