Three Teens Charged In Home Burglary Attempts In Livingston: Police

One of the three teens was charged in a Livingston home break-in that resulted in the theft of an Xbox.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Three teens from Newark have been charged with burglary attempts in Livingston in February 2023, police said.

Police said that a 15-year-old, 16-year-old, 17-year-old male, all from Newark, have been charged in two home burglary attempts in February: One on Rockhill Drive, and one on Morningside Drive.

Police charged the trio with burglary, theft, and conspiracy in the Rockhill attempt, and burglary and conspiracy in the Morningside Drive attempt, police said.

Police also were able to tie the 16-year-old to a home burglary in March, they said.

On March 23, Livingston police responded to a Manor Road residence at 4:05 a.m. on a report of two people attempting to break into the home. The homeowner was away, but was alerted and viewed the suspects on his outside house cameras.

Police found that entry had been made via an unlocked window, and an XBox was stolen.

The police investigated and were able to tie a 16-year-old Newark boy to that break-in, charging him with burglary, theft and conspiracy.
