Toss Your Old TRS-80, Other Electronics On Essex County Recycling Day Saturday
Disposing of electronic device on Recycling Day helps keep lead and other chemicals from the waste stream, Essex County officials said.
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Junk that old Commodore 64 and toss that TRS-80, but make sure you discard your electronics responsibly, or they could leak toxic chemicals into the environment.
Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo, Jr. encouraged Essex County residents to participate in the Essex County Computer and Electronics Recycling Day on Saturday, May 20.
The event is sponsored by the County of Essex and the Essex County Utilities Authority.

With your participation, we can do our part to protect the environment,” DiVincenzo said. “Our collection days are very popular and I am glad our residents understand the importance of recycling. I encourage everyone to participate in our fall Computer and Electronics Recycling Day."
