Cranmer Legacy Society Honors Donors with New Sculpture Wall at Monmouth Medical Center

Monmouth Medical Center Foundation recently honored the members of its Cranmer Legacy Society with a donor recognition wall to thank donors and ensure their gifts will be recognized during their lifetime.

Benefactors who include Monmouth Medical Center in their estate plans will have their names added to a special donor recognition wall in the main lobby at Monmouth Medical Center, and be inducted into the Cranmer Legacy Society. The Society was established in honor of Ella B. Cranmer, who through her estate made one of the largest gifts in Monmouth Medical Center’s history.

“It is a very special person who provides for the future of his or her community. Planned gifts are one of the easiest ways to support the future of this hospital. It’s easier than you think to make a difference and in the process become a member of this very special society,” said Karen Siciliano, Chair of the Cranmer Legacy Society. “And once you see firsthand how your gift touches the lives of others, it’s a reward in itself.”

A former Wall Street broker, Siciliano resigned from her lucrative job after two tragedies: the death of her mother due to a misdiagnosis of breast cancer, and the loss of dozens of friends in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. She returned to Monmouth County, where she runs her family’s Red Bank-based landscaping company.

After going through these tough life experiences, Siciliano learned there’s no better time than now to plan your legacy gift. “Through planned giving, I can take matters into my own hands. My planned gift will provide for everything and everyone that’s important to me.”

Looking to pay forward her success, Siciliano honored her mother by planning a legacy gift to Monmouth’s Jacqueline M. Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center.

“As members of the community, we have a responsibility to contribute,” said Siciliano, who also serves on the Board of Trustees of Monmouth Medical Center. “Monmouth’s specialized services for women and children fuel my passion.”
