Monmouth Medical Center Foundation Honors Dr. Frank Vozos With Physician Leadership Award at 44th Annual Crystal Ball Gala
Annual Event Benefits Programs and Services at Monmouth Medical Center

More than 350 guests recently attended Monmouth Medical Center Foundation’s 44th annual Crystal Ball Gala held at The Molly Pitcher Inn in Red Bank. The event celebrated Monmouth Medical Center’s achievements and continued growth and honored Frank J. Vozos, M.D., FACS, with the highly esteemed Physician Leadership Award.
As President and CEO of Monmouth Medical Center for 17 years, Dr. Vozos oversaw a period of tremendous growth in both physical expansion and services. He currently serves as Executive Vice President, RWJBarnabas Health and Chief Executive, Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus.
Dr. Vozos’ significant accomplishments during his tenure at Monmouth Medical Center include the expansion of cancer services and the dedication of the Cheryl L. Diamond Cancer Care Pavilion which connects all Leon Hess Cancer Center services under one roof, centralizing comprehensive care, and sustaining world-class protocols close to home. He oversaw the expansion of the Eisenberg Family Center, and dedication of the Geriatric Emergency Medicine (GEM) Unit and The Unterberg Children’s Hospital. Dr. Vozos also orchestrated a partnership between the international non-profit Cancer Support Community and Monmouth Medical Center which provides cancer patients and their family members with access to a host of professionally led programs of support, education and hope, all free of charge.

“As Monmouth has evolved, so has Dr. Vozos’ role within the RWJBarnabas Health system,” said Bill Arnold, President and CEO of Monmouth Medical Center. “Drawing on his vast experience as a surgeon, medical staff leader and hospital chief executive, he is helping to shape clinical integration, strategy and system growth while also overseeing the day-to-day operations at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus. It is a privilege for me and all of his colleagues to continue to work side-by-side with him.”
Dr. Vozos began his career at Monmouth Medical Center in 1975 in a five-year residency program in general surgery. He has been a dedicated member of the greater Long Branch community ever since. A fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Vozos served as program director of the general surgery residency program at Monmouth Medical Center for 20 years and President of the hospital’s 900-member Medical and Dental Staff. In 1998, Dr. Vozos was named President and CEO of Monmouth Medical Center.
