Rivals RWJBarnabas, Hackensack Meridian Both Open Medical Offices At Monmouth Mall
Hospital rivals RWJBarnabas and Hackensack Meridian Health now both have outpatient medical complexes at Monmouth Mall:
EATONTOWN, NJ — The same summer RWJBarnabas opened a four-story medical complex at Monmouth Mall, Hackensack Meridian Health announced they just opened an outpatient care center in Eatontown as well.
The two hospital systems are in competition with each other to dominate New Jersey's healthcare market, especially in prime suburban areas.
The brand-new Hackensack medical building is located on Rt. 35 in the former DSW near the mall.

The brand-new RWJBarnabas medical building is located next to the Boscov's at the mall. The RWJ site is called the Anne Vogel Family Care and Wellness Center and it will also have a branch of Children's Specialized hospital and a demo kitchen featuring Dorothea and Jon Bon Jovi Nutrition Education Programs.
The Hackensack Meridian Health & Wellness Center at Eatontown will offer similar services to the RWJ site, including pediatrics, primary care, lab testing, women’s services and several adult specialties including endocrinology, neurology, pain management, rheumatology, thoracic surgery and vascular service.

Later this year, the Hackensack site will start offering X-rays, ultrasounds, mammography and Dexa. There is an urgent care on site that has been open since last December.
"This new location will provide personal, convenient and accessible care to communities throughout central New Jersey, providing easy, one-stop access to a variety of healthcare services in Monmouth County," said Hackensack Meridian of their new facility.
RWJBarnabas is also planning to open a space at the former East Brunswick Kmart on Rt. 18; they will open 35,000 square feet of medical offices expected to open in the second or third quarter of 2023.
