Seabrook Residents Present School Daze, November 16-18

The entertaining musical is the 19th show directed and produced by resident Lindo Meli.

Residents from Seabrook, an Erickson Living Retirement Community in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, will present the musical, “School Daze,” on November 16,17, and 18. The entertaining musical is the 19th show directed and produced by resident Lindo Meli.

Meli moved to Seabrook in 2008 and started the Seabrook Performers a year later. Meli has many years of experience working both in theater and radio. He has performed and directed more than 250 shows, both on radio and stage, and has worked with many famous actors, including Lauren Bacall, Gene Barry, Raymond Burr, and Peggy Cass. While in the U.S. Signal Corp, he appeared in many U.S. Special Services shows, Brisbane Repertory shows, and Australian Broadcasting System radio shows.

The play is a comical musical story of childhood memories from 20 to 40 years ago.

“The idea for this show came to me in a dream,” said Meli. “Our cast of talented young seniors truly capture the life of a child in a very humorous way.”

The Seabrook Performers, a group of residents and one staff member, perform on stage as well as behind the scenes on set design, costumes, lighting, and choreography. The club is one of more than 100 resident-run clubs on campus.
