2 Injured in Head-On Crash on Schooley's Mountain Road, Cops Say
Wet road cause of car crossing double yellow lines, police report.

Two drivers were sent to the hospital and traffic was snarled on a busy Tuesday morning in Washington Township when a head-on car crash stopped traffic on Schooley’s Mountain Road.
Police were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle crash near 69 Schooley’s Mountain Road at 8:58 a.m., Washington Township Police Lt. Mark Niemynski said.
Upon arrival, police found a head-on collision had occurred and both drivers sustained injuries, Niemynski said.

A preliminary investigation found Janice Harris, 24, of Long Valley, was traveling north in a Nissan Pathfinder when her vehicle slipped on the wet roadway, causing her to cross the center line and strike another vehicle, Niemynski said.
The second vehicle was driven by Mary Mayrand, 65, who was traveling southbound in a Nissan Murano.

Both drivers were taken to Hackettstown Regional Medical Center for minor injuries. Both the Long Valley First Aid Squad and Long Valley Fire Company responded and assisted at the scene.
Traffic was detoured around the crash for about an hour.
Charges have yet to be filed and the investigation is ongoing.
