4 Fall Fitness And Yoga Programs Coming To Long Valley
Three yoga programs and one "full body fitness" program are returning to Long Valley this fall.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — Washington Township Recreation is helping residents stay active this fall with four fitness and yoga programs designed for a variety of ages, abilities and wellness goals.
Held at the Washington Township Community Center, the programs include specialized yoga for osteoporosis, a beginner yoga class, an evening yoga session and a total body fitness workout. Registration deadlines fall in early to mid-September, with classes beginning later that month.
Yoga for Osteoporosis
Residents living with osteopenia or osteoporosis can take part in a nine-week Yoga for Osteoporosis program focused on improving bone health, balance and stability through weight-bearing yoga poses.

According to Washington Township Recreation, the classes are designed to help increase bone mineral density while improving coordination, strength and alignment.
The program runs Tuesdays from Sept. 15 through Nov. 17, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., at the Washington Township Community Center, 35 E. Springtown Road, Long Valley.

Participants should bring:
- Yoga mat
- Yoga block
- Strap
- Water bottle
- Towel
- Comfortable clothing
Registration is required by Sept. 11. A nonrefundable registration fee applies, with a $25 late fee after the deadline. Registration closes once the program begins.

Beginner Mat Yoga
Those new to yoga—or anyone looking to revisit the fundamentals—can sign up for Washington Township Recreation's Beginner Mat Yoga class this fall.
The nine-week course emphasizes foundational poses, breathing techniques and proper alignment in a supportive environment. A chair will also be available for participants who prefer additional stability.
Classes meet Wednesdays from Sept. 16 through Nov. 18, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the Washington Township Community Center.
Participants should bring:
- Yoga mat
- Towel or small blanket
- Two yoga blocks
- Strap
Registration closes Sept. 14. Late registrations are subject to a $25 fee, and enrollment closes once classes begin. All registration fees are nonrefundable.

Total Body Fitness
Residents looking for a more vigorous workout can sign up for Washington Township Recreation's Total Body Fitness program this fall.
The nine-week class combines cardio and strength training into a full-body workout designed for all fitness levels. Organizers say the weekly sessions are ideal for anyone looking to improve endurance, build strength or maintain an active lifestyle throughout the fall.
Classes are held Wednesdays from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m., Sept. 16 through Nov. 18, at the Washington Township Community Center.
Participants should bring:
- Exercise mat
- Medium-weight dumbbells (3 to 8 pounds)
