4 Vie for 3 Seats on Local School Board in November Election
First contested election in Washington Township School District since change to new format.
Four Washington Township residents will vie for three seats on the local board of education this November, making for the first contested election since the district moved to the new format.
Incumbents David Chance Healy and Michelle Munley will be contested by Al DiGabriele and Marielle Pastuck, according to the Morris County Clerk’s Office, where candidates needed to file petitions to run by 4 p.m. Monday. DiGabriele was appointed to an open seat on the board – left vacant by the June resignation of Walt Cullen – in July. The term associated with that seat is up in 2014.
Residents will be voting for three of the candidates. All three seats come with three-year terms on the nine-member board.
