Drunken Hit-And-Run Driver, Warrant Arrests: Long Valley Blotter
Police reported one passenger was jailed on a Warren County warrant and one driver was charged after a crash injury call.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — Washington Township police reported three recent incidents that included two active warrant cases and one arrest after a crash investigation involving injuries. The activity took place on Route 46 and near East Mill Road and Bartley Road, according to the Washington Township Police Department blotter.
In one case, an officer conducting a motor vehicle stop on Route 46 for an observed traffic violation determined that a passenger in the vehicle had an active NCIC warrant issued by Warren County. Police reported the individual was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Warren County Correctional Facility pending further court proceedings.
In a second incident, officers responded to the area of East Mill Road near Bartley Road for a reported motor vehicle accident involving injuries. When officers arrived, they were advised that one of the involved drivers had fled the scene on foot before police got there.

Police reported that officers checked the surrounding area and located the individual a short distance away. Following an on-scene investigation, officers determined the driver was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, according to the department summary.
The individual was taken into custody, processed, and later released to a responsible adult in accordance with John’s Law. The department summary did not identify the driver or provide additional details about the injuries reported in the crash.

In a third incident, police said an officer conducting a proactive traffic enforcement stop on Route 46 discovered that the driver had an active traffic warrant issued by Franklin Township in Warren County. The driver was advised of the warrant and was able to post the required bail amount before being released with a new court date, according to the department.
No additional details, including identities, were provided by the police.
