9 Central Seniors Recognized by National Merit Program
Test-takers among top 5-percent of students in country-wide program.

West Morris Central’s academic prowess continued in 2013, as nine of the school’s seniors were given commendation by the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program.
The school announced this week that Eric Kyle Eskola; Sarah Elizabeth Goodyear; Jacquelyn Lee Liu; Kristi Ann Maulding; Samantha Keeton Miller; Daniel Drew Moylan; Elizabeth Marie Peter; Cassidy Rae Schneider; and Aaron Bao Vinh were part of the 34,000 students recognized by the program nationwide.
Students are recognized for their “exceptional academic promise,” according to a statement. Commended students will not continue in the 2014 competition for National Merit Scholarships, but are placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered, the statement read.

To be part of the competition, students took a qualifying test in 2012 for preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying.
