Alstede Farms will be holding a brief ribbon cutting ceremony this Friday, the 14th at 6:00 pm for its Lou Gehrig American Baseball Legend Corn Maze and have invited some special guests. Lou Gehrig died from ALS and present at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be a representative from the ALS Foundation. Also in attendance will be local resident – Rachel Barber from Hackettstown – who lost her father to ALS and she has agreed to speak. And, finally Joyce Bomback – the photographer who took the aerial shots of the corn maze – will join the ceremony. Free admission to the corn maze is being offered that evening for anyone in attendance.
Lou Gehrig was a true American Hero whose life was cut short by this terrible disease. In an effort to support the good work of the ALS foundation Alstede Farms is donating $2.00 of each corn maze admission each time one of its visitors dons a Yankees hat, shirt or jacket during this weekend. The whole farm will also be open for Pick Your Own (8 to 6), and family fun activities will run all four days (Fri, 12 to 4, Sat., Sun. and Mon. from 11 to 5.) The Hen House will be open for food and refreshments.
