By the mid 1950s, a new form of music dominated, Rock and Roll. But, the period wasn't all about fun and good times. Immediately after the war, a new type of war began called "The Cold War." Equal rights for many became a major issue of the period. Violence and assassinations came to mark the period along with open sexuality, protests, and drugs. Over the entire 30 years was the shadow of the Vietnam War. Music became the most dominant of art forms and became the voice of the period. In four sessions, this class will explore the music of these times.

Presented by Dr. Robert W. Butts, Artistic Director/Conductor of The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey, Professor Montclair State University, Saint Elizabeth University

Sponsored by the Friends of the Library, there is a nominal fee to attend this series.  For more information and to register check out the Lifetime Learning Brochure
