Community Forum Set for Regional High School Superintendent Search
School board also posts online survey for residents.

The West Morris Regional High School District Board of Education is embarking on its most important decision, and is asking community members to weigh in and help the process.
The board announced it has hired Dr. William Librera of West Hudson Associates to “establish search criteria and gather input from all stakeholders,” but will also hold a community forum on Thursday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Black River Middle School in Chester.
As of May 31, the regional school district will no longer have a full time superintendent in place, as Mackey Pendergrast resigned his post to take the same position in the nearby Morris School District.

In addition to the forum, the school board has created a short, online survey asking residents’ thoughts on both the hiring of a superintendent and the future of the school district. That survey can be found here.
An interim superintendent has not been named to take over the district on June 1, and board president Gary Lakritz said at the group’s March meeting the search process will likely take several months.
