Washington Twp. Public Library welcomes NY Times Wordplay Editor and Columnist Deb Amlen for a program of tips on solving the crossword.

LONG VALLEY -- Washington Township Public Library will present "How to Solve The New York Times Crossword" on Tuesday, July 17 at 7 p.m. Meet Deb Amlen, columnist & editor of Wordplay, the crossword column of The New York Times. Would you like to improve your mental flexibility, learn a few interesting things every day and establish bragging rights among your friends? Solving crossword puzzles is like mental yoga — both challenging and relaxing at the same time. Plus, it’s fun, especially if you appreciate words and wordplay. With patience and practice anyone can learn to solve crosswords. Once you master a few basic strategies, you’ll find that puzzle-solving is not only possible, but highly addictive. So let’s get solving! The program is free and open to the public, but registration is requested online or by calling 908-876-3596.
