Epic Nerf Battle proves to be a big win for the community!

Sold out Mother/Son event raised money for Long Valley's community while providing a night of fun and bonding for residents.

On Wednesday, April 4th, the Nerf darts were flying, and the Moms were ducking for cover! This year’s theme for the LVJWC’s annual Mother/Son night was Nerf Wars, and the attendees came prepared for battle! The event garnered 150 participants consisting of Moms and their sons, ages 4-12 from Long Valley and the surrounding area. This year’s theme was a departure from past year’s, when the club has organized a night of glow bowling. In looking for a way to change up the event, the club connected with Stryker Airsoft in Hackettstown, who generously offered to run the event for the community. For a nominal fee each participant was able to enjoy crafts, tattoos, a photo booth, pizza and of course an epic Nerf battle! The event initially sold out in less than a day, and a second time slot was added to accommodate the growing wait list. This annual event is a great way for Mom's to have fun bonding with their son's, and also connect with other Mom's - there is nothing like a Nerf battle to deflate the day-to-day frustrations Moms often experience, and the belly-laughs that ensued from both the Moms and the kids were heartwarming. High fives were in abundance when the event was over, and planning has already begun for next year's Nerf Wars. The Long Valley Junior Women’s Club is proud to be able to offer these community events as a way for families to connect. Nerf Wars falls on the heels of their other popular offering – Daddy/Daughter Date Night which was held in February.
