Energy efficiency strategies for the home and the incentives available
Terry Carruthers, owner of Creative Energy, possesses a Masters in Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies from the University of East London, U.K.; is a LEED Accredited Professional and a BPI Certified Building Analyst and Shell Professional , will discuss the federal and state incentives available, how they operate, the overall cost and the payback period. The program will take place on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Washington Twp. Public Library, 37 E. Springtown Rd., Long Valley, NJ.
Creative Energy, located in Millington, carries out energy efficiency audits, consultations and installations for residential, institutional and commercial customers.

Terry is a native of Dublin, Ireland, who has traveled several times to Africa. He moved to the U.S. in 2004 and
completed his Masters degree in Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies, and successfully passed the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) exams. Terry has recently started a solar company in New Jersey and is offering his knowledge and expertise to the SHARE program and the "Light for Learning" initiative. Terry is also a long-time
environmentalist and the author of a number of books including ‘The Birds of Killarney National Park’ (1993), ‘Kerry: A Natural History’ (1998).Terry and was educated at St Vincent’s College, Dublin and at Birkbeck College,
University of London. He spent 17 years as a park ranger with the Irish National Parks Service and has been the owner/operator of his own specialist tour company since 1991. Terry's tours focus on walking, wildlife and
historical travels. Terry's principal interests are birding, history and ecology, but his other interests include watercolor painting, videography, woodcarving and traditional Irish music. Terry loves the outdoors and
traveling, and has a particular fascination with man’s historical interaction with and impact on his environment. His eco-travels have taken him and his clients throughout Ireland, the U.K., Europe, South Africa and regions of the
U.S. and Canada. He is a board member of Friends of The Great Swamp NWR, and he also volunteers for NJ Audubon and Habitat for Humanity. Terry looks forward to working with SHARE to further their programs for girls in Tanzania.
