Golden Group: WMC Fencers Dominate District Tournament

Four first place medals and a bronze catapult athletes to state competition.

The colder the weather gets, the stronger West Morris Central’s fencing athletes become.

It was a dominating day for members of the boys and girls squads at the District I tournament at Hackettstown High School recently, with the school bringing home four gold medals and a bronze.

The boys foil squad, which has trampled the competition all season, added to its Morris County Championship by taking gold in the districts. Terry Peters went undefeated throughout the tournament, grabbing gold in individual Men’s Foil Championship.
