Helicopter Power Line Inspection Coming Up In Morris County

If you see low flying helicopters, don't be alarmed.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Don't be alarmed if you see low flying helicopters this weekend-- electric company JCP&L is conducting routine inspections on their transmission lines.

Between Oct. 13 and Oct. 23, JCP&L will be flying their helicopters around Morris County to inspect the lines. One or two helicopters will be used, Parsippany Police said in a notice to residents.

The helicopters will travel at about 25 miles per hour, and might hover over buildings and structures.

The following helicopters will be used:

  • N90TJ – Black & Silver, Hughes MD500
  • N748CB – All-black Hughes MD500
