Horse Trapped Under Tree Saved By Morris Co. First Responders
The tree toppled onto the horse during Tuesday's storm, pinning it to the ground.

HARDING, NJ — First responders from Harding responded to an unusual storm call Tuesday afternoon: a fallen tree landed on top of a horse, trapping it on the ground.
The horse became trapped around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday night when a tree landed on its leg, pinning it between tree stumps. Harding police and New Vernon firefighters responded to the home, and cut the tree off of the 28-year-old horse.
The rescue efforts took about half an hour, Harding Chief of Police Erik Heller told Patch. The horse was examined by an equestrian veterinarian, and had a minor leg injury but otherwise was fine. The horse was able to stand up and walk on its own following the incident.
