Humanities Teacher of the Year Award Goes to Central's Kipp-Newbold

English teacher named best in New Jersey under humanities category.

Anyone who’s ever taken a humanities class with English teacher Rebecca Kipp-Newbold at West Morris Central High School certainly won’t forget it.

And it’s Kipp-Newbold’s approach to the history of arts and humanities inside that classroom, which focuses on integrating students of all academic levels to work together, that earned her the 2014 Humanities Teacher of the Year Award from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.

“Rebecca Kipp-Newbold is Central High School’s exceptional humanities educator,” said Kim Helsel, District Supervisor of English, in a statement. “Every day Mrs. Kipp-Newbold creates such an array of interesting and creative activities for her students that brings enthusiasm and authentic learning to them.”
