Icy Roads Force 2-Hour Delayed Opening for Local Schools

Dipping temperatures will create hazardous roadways overnight.

While the precipitation ended before noon Monday, there was still enough, coupled with plummeting temperatures to force local schools into a two-hour delayed opening Tuesday.

Both the Washington Township and West Morris Regional school districts called for the abbreviated day just before 7 p.m. Monday, which was a snow day in both districts.

Temperatures were not expected to go above 19 degrees Tuesday, with a low of seven degrees overnight.
