Lifesaving Actions By Police Officers Honored In Long Valley
Multiple WTPD officers were honored for steps they took to save lives. Read about their actions here.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Multiple Washington Township police officers were honored at the annual Washington Township PBA Local 301 awards ceremony at last night's town committee meeting, including a number of officers who helped save lives. All the honored officers went above and beyond the call of duty to help save lives. Read more about the winners here, as written by police:
Life Saving Medal:
Sgt. Robert Oranchak, Cpl David Marut and Cpl Roger Garrison: In 2015, Sgt. Oranchak, Cpl. Marut,
and Cpl. Garrison revived a victim utilizing NARCAN at a residence on West Mill Road. The victim made
a full recovery.

PO Robert Brobst and PO Andrew Tesori: On January 26, 2017 PO Brobst and PO Tesori responded to
an overdose call on Valley View Road. Upon arriving the officers located a subject unresponsive and not
breathing. Utilizing CPR, and AED and NARCAN the officers were able to reverse the effects of the
narcotic and revive the subject.
Sgt. James Burns, Cpl. Phil Seabeck, PO Mike Thompson, and PO Dan Hudspith: On August 22, 2017
Sgt Burns, Cpl Seabeck, PO Thompson and Po Hudspith responded to an overdose call on Eagles Nest.
Upon arriving the officers located a subject unresponsive and not breathing. Utilizing CPR, and AED and
NARCAN the officers were able to reverse the effects of the narcotic and revive the subject.

Cpl. Adam Feichter and PO Dan Parrish: On January 26, 2017 Cpl Feichter and PO Parrish responded to
a North Four Bridges residence for an overdose. Upon arrival the located an unresponsive subject. They
deployed NARCAN and assisted the subject with his breathing until he was able to maintain his own
airway.
PO Kevin Barnes: On April 21, 2017 PO Barnes responded to an overdose call at a Fairview Ave
residence. PO Barnes deployed NARCAN while a member of the Long Valley First Aid Squad assisted the subject with his breathing until he was able to maintain it on his own.
Sgt. Robert Oranchak, PO Scott Myers and PO Andrew Tesori: On February 24, 2017 Sgt Oranchak, PO
Myers and PO Tesori responded to a Old Farmers residence for an overdose. The officers utilized
NARCAN and rescue breathing to revive the subject.
PO Frank Giaquinto: On February 4, 2017 PO Giaquinto responded to a medical call for a possible heart
attack on Dorsett Dr. During the incident the patient went into cardiac arrest. PO Giaquinto performed
CPR until the patient was loaded into an ambulance and transported to a hospital where he made a full
recovery and returned home.
Sgt. Brian Bigham, Cpl. Tom Falleni, and PO Frank Giaquinto: On February 17, 2017 Sgt. Bigham, Cpl
Falleni and PO Giaquinto responded to a medical call for a possible stroke at a Bartley Road residence.
The officers utilized CPR and an AED to get the patient’s heart beating again. He was airlifted to
Morristown Hospital where he made a full recovery.
Unit Citation Medals:
On July 17, 2017 officers responded to an armed robbery call in Hastings. The victim reported being
robbed by a subject with a handgun. Through investigation the subject was located in a residence.
Arrest and search warrants were completed and the incident was safely resolved after a lengthy
standoff. The individual was found deceased within the residence after entry was made.

Sgt. Lucas Allen, Sgt. James Burns, Sgt. Brian Bigham, , Cpl. Adam Feichter , DCpl. Roger Garrison, Cpl.
Tom Falleni, PO Robert Brobst, , PO Mike Thompson, PO Ryan Olah and PO Jason Hensley
***Detective John Wurtemberg was awarded an exceptional duty for the same incident for his
investigation.
Dsgt. Brian Szymanski, DCpl. Roger Garrison and Det. John Wurtemberg: On November 23, 2016
WTPD detectives began an investigation into a juvenile prostitution ring and possible human trafficking.
Through the initial investigation the detectives located a male subject who was working as a pimp and
assisted MOPD with an investigation into him. He was subsequently arrested on human trafficking
charges.
Sgt. Mike Hade, Dsgt. Brian Szymanski, Cpl. Phil Seabeck, PO Mike Thompson and PO Dan Hudspith:
On July 30, 2017 responded to a robbery call at Sherwin Williams on Route 46. Through investigation it
was determined the actor had fled in a stolen vehicle and subsequently crashed on Route 46 in Mount
Olive. The officers held and processed multiple scenes and ultimately charged the actor.
Exceptional Duty: A highly creditable accomplishment, bringing public acclaim to himself, his
department or the Law Enforcement profession, as a result of training, devotion to duty or service to
the public.
During the year 2016 the following officers had 15 or more CDS arrests as a result of proactive patrol:
PO Mike Thompson, PO Frank Giaquinto, PO Derek Heymer, and PO Kevin Barnes.
Cpl. Thomas Falleni: September 27, 2016 Cpl. Falleni conducted a MV stop in Califon Boro. During the
stop Cpl. Falleni located a gun on the vehicles driver. He was able to take him into custody without
incident. A quantity of CDS was also located during the stop.
Grand Cordon, for going above the call of duty:
PO Mike Thompson: During the course of a motor vehicle stop PO Thompson and K9 Cliff located over a
pound of marijuana.
PO Derek Heymer and PO Dan Hudspith: During a motor vehicle crash investigation the two officers
located distribution quantity marijuana.
