Long Valley Grandmother, 'Crusader, Fighter' Dies at 70
Nancy Ryan spent more than half her life living in Long Valley and raising a family.

The grass never grew under Nancy Ryan’s feet.
A Long Valley resident of 41 years, the Paterson-born woman has been described by her family as a gardener, chef, historian, party planner, skier, sailor, seamstress, fashionista, adventurer, real-estate professional and avid learner.
Ryan died at home on Monday, surrounded by family at the age of 70, according to her obituary.

The grandmother of five was called a “crusader to make the world a better place for her family and the people around her, a fighter, dreamer & believer.”
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, John, and four children. Memorial donations can be made to Nutritional Research and Educational Foundation, 36 East 36th Street, New York, NY 10016.
