Lost Long Valley Pup, ‘Darla,’ Taken To Animal Shelter
After nobody claimed the dog for nearly two weeks, she may be available for adoption in the near future.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Nearly two weeks after Washington Township police found a lost dog in town, they have decided to give her to an animal shelter.
On March 1, police found a female Shepherd mix near the intersection of Fairview and Drakestown in Long Valley.
Police said that despite several social media posts regarding the dog, nobody has come forward to claim her.

“No one has come forward yet to claim this sweet pup,” a Washington Township Police Department post read. “She is currently safe and well cared for, but we would love to reunite her with her family.”
After days of nobody claiming the dog, law enforcement officials turned her over to Father John’s Animal House in Sparta, but not before naming her “Darla.”
