Major Paving Come To Long Valley Road

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Roadwork is coming to Long Valley as part of a county-wide effort to pave roads.

30 miles of roads across 24 different towns will be repaved at some point this year, county officials said, at a cost of $9 million. Exact dates for paving have not yet been announced, but East Mill Road in Washington Township is expected to be paved.

“It is extremely important to properly maintain our county road network in a first-rate county like Morris County,’’ said Freeholder John Cesaro, the county governing board’s liaison on public works and roads.
“Maintaining our infrastructure is vital to our residents, visitors, medical and educational institutions, and businesses, and is a key factor in our high quality of life.’’

The following roads in other towns are also on the list to receive "extensive" work:

• Boonton Turnpike in Lincoln Park
• Mt. Arlington Boulevard in Roxbury
• Littleton Road in Parsippany
• Jacksonville Road in Pequannock
• West Dewey Avenue in Roxbury and Jefferson
• South Morris Street in Dover
• Boulevard in Pequannock
• South Street in Morristown

In addition, two major intersections will be paved: Columbia Turnpike and Park Avenue in Hanover and Morris townships, and the Myrtle Avenue and Wootton Street intersection in Boonton. Both were supposed to be paved last year.
