Milestone Makers Lead Softball to Elite Season
Three West Morris Central softball players make their mark on history books en route to 18-win season – and counting.

Building a winning scholastic sports program takes time. It takes effort. And most of all, it takes teamwork.
That’s how the West Morris Central softball team has racked up an 18-4 record this season, a No. 14 ranking in the Star Ledger top-20, and a top spot in the power point rankings for their group as the NJSIAA State Playoffs kick off next week.
Led by coach Courtney Bertos, the team made its way through the Morris County Tournament before falling in an extra-inning heartbreaker during the semifinals, but came back with a vengeance, as three team members notched individual accolades recently.

Senior captain and two-year starting pitcher Jamie Fesinstine kept bringing the heat, as she recorded her 350th career strikeout against Parsippany Hills en route to an 8-0 shutout win on Monday.
In that same game, another senior captain, Rebecca Raymond, blasted her 100th career hit, as did Allie McCourt.

On Tuesday, the team continued its winning ways, knocking off Villa Walsh for victory number 18. The girls will host Columbia on Friday in their last regular season game.
