Township Hiring For New Positions In Long Valley: See Details
Washington Township is advertising three municipal job openings.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — Washington Township is advertising three municipal job openings, including a part-time administrative assistant position, a full-time laborer, and a full-time construction official role.
Part-Time Administrative Assistant
According to the job posting, the part-time administrative assistant would work in the township’s Offices of Fire Prevention and Tax/Finance for up to 29 hours a week. The township said the ideal candidate will have customer service and organizational skills. Duties may include helping the public by email or phone, scheduling inspections, maintaining an existing database, processing application payments, and collecting invoices.

The posting says the position requires strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Google platform tools, and Edmunds. The candidate also must be able to work independently, perform assigned administrative duties, and hold a valid driver’s license.

Full-Time Construction Official
Washington Township also posted a full-time opening for a Construction Official who would also serve as Building Sub-code Official and Fire Sub-code Official for Washington Township and Mansfield Township.
According to the posting, applicants must hold New Jersey licenses as Construction Official, Building Sub-code Official with HHS, and Fire Sub-code Official with HHS. A valid New Jersey driver’s license is required, and experience using SDL is listed as a plus.
The township said duties for that role include examining plans for proposed construction to ensure compliance with building and fire sub-codes, inspecting construction jobs, resolving construction problems, and enforcing building and fire sub-code rules and regulations. The posting also says the position includes initiating legal action against violators, preparing reports, and signing off on CO’s, CA’s, and permit approvals.

Full-Time Laborer
Washington Township is also seeking applicants for a full-time Department of Public Works laborer position, according to a job posting from the township. The position pays $28.71 per hour and includes benefits.
The posting says applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and experience with snow plowing involving vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of more than 26,000 pounds. It also says candidates need a minimum of three years of experience in building and grounds maintenance or in asphalt paving and road maintenance, underground utility excavation, and masonry.
