Parent Survey Seeks Input on WTS School Calendar
The high school will start in late August again, and WTS is looking for parent input on a calendar for the lower grades.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Washington Township Schools are looking for parent input as they set their calendar for the 2018-2019 school year.
"In light of the fact that the WestMorris Regional High School District has adopted its calendar for next school year with a start date of August 27th, the Board’s committee thought it would be prudent to gather input from key stakeholders as part of the calendar-setting process," the survey says.
The survey asks questions like how many children a parent has in either district, how important it is to parents that the high school and lower schools have the same breaks and start date, and if a different start date would create any hardship for the family.

West Morris Regional School District shifted to an August start date last year. Superintendent Michael Ben-David told Patch at the time that moving the start date up would give students extra classroom time before major tests.
