Paving Projects to Close 2 Long Valley Roads in June, July

Construction projects will run 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays until completion.

Two major road construction projects will close portions of streets in Washington Township during an overlapping three-week period, police announced.

On Monday, June 22, construction will begin on Naughright Road between Nancy Terrace and Drakestown Road. The road will be reduced to one lane until June 26, Lt. Doug Compton said.

Beginning on June 29, the road will be completely closed between Nancy Terrace and Drakestown, with the project completion expected for July 3. Hours of construction will be 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Also beginning on June 29 is a paving project on East Valley Brook Road between Old Farmers Road and Fairmount Road. Between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekdays the road will be completely closed to traffic, with the exception of emergency vehicles and local residents.

The project is expected to be complete by July 9.

Police officers will be stationed at each of the closures and all work is being done by Top Line Construction based in Somerville.
