Police Raise Funds For Anti-Bullying Campaign In Long Valley
The Washington Township Police Department will be challenging the Mount Olive Police Department to a charity flag football game.
LONG VALLEY, NJ —A charity flag football game is being held by the Washington Township Police Department in an effort to tackle bullying.
The police department will be challenging members of the Mount Olive Police Department to a game of flag football on Oct. 29 at West Morris Central High School, police said.
Officials say the game will be held to raise money and awareness for the nonprofits Stomp Out Bullying, which works to protect children across the country from bullying, and Starlight Foundation, which brings joy to seriously ill children and their families at more than 800 children's hospitals and health care facilities in the U.S.

The game is anticipated to begin at 5 p.m., according to police. Both cash and check donations will be accepted until Oct. 28 and can be dropped off at 1 E. Springtown Road.
The Starlight Foundation is a non-profit organization that was established in 1982. Starlight's programs include hospital wear, games and deliveries to children in hospitals.

Stomp Out Bullying is the nation's leading nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the culture for all students. It works to reduce and prevent bullying, cyberbullying and other forms of digital abuse, as well as to educate people about homophobia, LGBTQIA+ discrimination, racism, and hatred.
