Rutgers coach Kyle Flood called Burton a “throwback player” in a recent report by nj.com, because of his hard-nosed running and blocking style as the Scarlet Knights’ fullback.
While at West Morris Central, Burton rushed his way into the history books as the team’s top tailback, obliterating the single-season rushing yards mark with 1,767 in 2009 – 275 more yards than his closest counterpart. Burton also holds the second and third places for most touchdown in a single game with five. He capped his high school career with a championship against Passaic Valley.
