School Budget Ideas Sought by Twp. District

Open forum will be held at Long Valley Middle School.

A year after the Washington Township School District created an annual budget with a 1-percent decrease for the 2012-13 school year, the nine-member board of education is in the midst of creating the expenditure plan again for the upcoming school year.

The district has announced it will hold an open forum for residents to bring "thoughts, ideas, or concerns they may have relative to the development of the 2013-2014 school budget," said Superintendent Jeff Mohre in a statement.

Residents who attend will learn more about the budget planning process at the meeting, Mohre said. Board of Education President Cathleen Compoli will oversee the forum, Mohre said.
