Schooley’s Mountain Road Bridge Getting Replaced

Road work is expected to happen in late 2018 or spring of 2019.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — The bridge in Schooley’s Mountain Road will be replaced sometime in the next year, county officials said.

The bridge, between between Newburgh Road and Hastings Road, takes the road over the Musconetcong River. It was built in 1920 and widened in 1937, and is showing severe cracking due to water damage. Construction will start in either late 2018 or the spring of 2019.

The project will be federally funded, and will cost around $543,000. A detour will be in place during the construction.
