Students, Author Journey Through History

Children's book creator Michael Dooling visits Flocktown-Kossmann School.

Students at Flocktown-Kossmann Elementary School took a memorable journey through history recently, thanks to picture books from creator and author Michael Dooling.

Dooling visited the school on March 4 in costume–only to be matched by his readers–and helped them learn about history with his creations.

Assemblies were followed by portrait sketches, lunch with children, and book signings, according to librarian Barbara Krauss. The chidlren were able to view and discuss Dooling's portfolio and dinosaur bone prop he made to replicate the original for a painting.
