Transportation Chief: Students Home Safe
Day filled with road closures and obstacles doesn't stop buses from normal schedule.

All of Washington Township's students in grades K-12 who took a bus Wednesday afternoon arrived home safely and either on time or 10 to 15 minutes later than usual, according to Washington Township Schools Transportation Director Paul Henry.
"Everyone is home safe," Henry said just after 4:30 p.m. "All the students were brought home either on time or just 10, maybe 15 minutes later than scheduled."
A lessening of rain and receding of flood waters helped clear the way to open roads throughout town during the afternoon bus runs, Henry said. The elementary schools were released first–Cucinella, Flocktown-Kossmann, Old Farmers Road–and were on time.

"Our biggest concern was the high school," Henry said. "For a while, there was no good way to get there. The surrounding roads were very bad."
The high school students, who are released at 2:30 p.m., were also brought home on time or shortly after their regular schedule, Henry said.

"Everyone out there did a great job today," Henry said. "It wasn't just flooded roads; some were buckling, there was debris all over. But everyone's home now."
