Twp. School Board OKs $14K in Bonuses for Superintendent
Jeff Mohre achieved three separate goals set on Aug. 5, leading to board approval for payout.

Washington Township Schools Superintendent Jeff Mohre achieved three of the goals set before him earlier this year, and had $14,198 in bonuses paid out to him this week as a result.
Under Mohre’s contract with the Washington Township Schools Board of Education, a five-year pact that runs through 2018, a set of qualitative and quantitative goals was established with correlating merit pay percentages.
On Tuesday, Dec. 2, the board of education approved one qualitative goal and two quantitative goals in Mohre’s contract.

The qualitative goal required Mohre to “design and deliver a professional orientation for substitute teachers and facilitate the implementation of a new web-based substitute placement and management service.” This goal came with a 2.5-percent payout, equaling $3,875.
The first quantitative goal stated Mohre would “establish a University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education satellite campus in the Washington Township Schools for the purpose of engaging faculty in a graduate level course, relative to the teaching of English/language arts, complete with a minimum of three job-embedded coaching experiences as facilitated by the university’s adjunct professor.”

That goal came with a 3.33-percent merit payment, or $5,161.50.
The second quantitative goal required Mohre to “design, submit, and present a professional development workshop as part of New Jersey School Boards Association’s Fall Workshop Exhibition – “Looking Back … Leaping Forward.” That goal also had a 3.33-percent merit payout of $5,161.50.
All tolled Mohre received approval for $14,198 in bonuses Tuesday night in addition to his $155,000 annual salary. Due to the size of the Washington Township School district’s total enrollment, Mohre’s salary is capped by state law at $155,000.
