Washington Township Passes 2022 Municipal Budget, Taxes To Rise 1.9%
The municipal budget for 2022, totaling $20,553,251, was presented at the township committee meeting.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — The Township Committee presented a $20.5 million municipal budget for the 2022 fiscal year at a recent committee meeting.
The $20.5 million budget will be supported by $13.3 million in property taxes collected from Washington Township's residential and commercial property owners.
This year's budget represents a $1,093,826.86 increase over the 2021 budget of $19,459,424.20., coming in at $20,553,251.06.

The amount to be raised by municipal taxes has increased by 1.9 percent, with increased grant revenue accounting for nearly $600,000 of the one million dollar budget increase. The estimated increase in municipal taxes for a $439,230 average-assessed home for the year is about $48.
The majority of the additional grant revenue will go toward capital projects. The projects listed below are part of the 2022 capital plan.

The budget does not include the taxes for the Washington Township K-8 district or the West Morris Regional School District.
