West Morris Central Jumps Into State, National Rankings

US News & World Report says school is among the best in New Jersey.

West Morris Central has a new notch to put in its belt, and it comes from US News & World Report’s annual school rankings.

The list, released Monday, shows West Morris Central as the 43rd best high school in New Jersey – two spots ahead of sister school Mendham – and the number 1018 school nationally.

The list includes magnet, charter, and public school across the country. In the 2013 ranking, Central did not enter the top 50 in New Jersey on the list.

US News & World Report’s methodology includes college readiness, math proficiency and language arts proficiency. See the full list here.

Chatham High School was the highest-ranking Morris County school, coming in at number 19 in the state. Biotechnology High School was the highest-ranking New Jersey school in the country, coming in at number 19.

In 2014 Central was ranked the number 11 public high school in New Jersey by New Jersey Monthly magazine, and number 209 overall by Newsweek.
