Wolfpack Begins Journey to Halvorsen Cup Title

The time to cash in on "There's always next year" has arrived for the West Morris Central Wolfpack ice hockey team.

After a devastating loss to the powerful Morristown Colonial team in the 2012 Halvorsen Cup final, the 'Pack has a bitter taste in its collective mouth.

So the squad, sitting at fourth place in its division, is set to take on Mountain Lakes Wednesday night at Mennen Arena in the first round of the playoffs. Game time is set for 7:45 p.m.

The Wolfpack beat its first round opponents twice this season. The winner will advance to the semi-final round on Saturday night, also at Mennen Arena.

Last year Central beat sister-school Mendham in the semi-final game to reach the championship round.
