Wolfpack Hockey Action from November 12-13

Local Youth Ice Hockey Highlights

LVCM Wolfpack Squirts Team 1 played two very competitive games this past weekend. Layton Cummings stopped several breakaways during his first showing in net this season. Layton was strong in net and kept the game close. Drew George scored the Wolfpack’s lone goal from the slot with a beautiful wrist shot. Harding got the better of the Wolfpack by a score of 4-1.

The Wolfpack’s 2nd game of the weekend was a real nail biter against a fully stacked Hanover bench. Luca Chiaese scored two goals for the Wolfpack, his second goal evening the score 2-2. Hanover scored the go ahead goal late in the 3rd period. The Wolfpack pulled the goalie for the extra man advantage but simply ran out of time as Hanover won 3-2. Soren Torlucci, Wolfpack goalie, stopped 13 shots and played truly outstanding. This was one of these games that could have gone either way based on the how the puck bounced. The coaches were extremely pleased with the entire team’s effort.

The Wolfpack Mites White team played an early Sunday morning tilt at Twin Oaks against the Junior Warriors. Thomas Ferrara had a pair of assists, Brody Hallik had a three-point game, and Shiva Kuttikat had an assist in his first ever game. In goal, Ryan Puco made some awesome saves with shots coming from a few feet in front of him.

The Wolfpack Mites Blue team faced off against Denville in a high-scoring affair. Nick Conte and Brayden Longo each scored their first goals, and Molly Brozowski netted two. Jason Trezza made his first appearance in the Wolfpack net and did a great job.

The Wolfpack PeeWees skated to a 9 -1 victory last Friday against Jefferson. The Wolfpack jumped all over Jefferson early and quickly had a 5-0 lead at the end of the first period. Michael Scarpati led the scoring with a hat trick for the Wolfpack. The strong defense was anchored by Tyler Muszelik and Brody Toye who limited Jefferson to just 6 shots for the tilt.

The Wolfpack PeeWees played the late game at Mennen on Sunday night against Morristown. It was a hard fought game and highly competitive. Morristown jumped out to a 3-0 lead by the end of first period. The Wolfpack clawed back in to the game with a nice end to end goal by Brody Toye. The goal gave the club some momentum and much needed confidence. Defenseman Nick Dargel helped shut down the Morristown club in the second and third period which sparked the offense who had many glorious opportunities to score. In the third period Tyler Dean scored on a penalty shot to make it 3-2 after a Morristown player closed his hand on the puck in the crease. Goalie Soren Torlucci kept the game close with outstanding saves in the third. However, the Wolfpack effort came up short when Morristown put the game away with a late goal to win 4-2.
