Wolfpack Hockey Action from October 29-30

Weekend Local Youth Ice Hockey Highlights

On Sunday Oct. 30th the Wolfpack Squirt Team #1 played the Chatham Cougars at Mennen Arena. The Wolfpack spotted the Cougars a few early goals before they came to life. Zach Naval opened the scoring followed by a beautiful breakaway goal by speedy wing Andrew Osso. Soon after that Antonio Conte scored his first career goal to tie the game at 3-3. The Wolfpack fought hard led by Bryan Rainforth, who made several great saves in the net, but the tenacious Chatham team came on with some late goals and the game ended 7-3. Eddie Fox played extremely hard and was given a game puck by the coaches.

The Wolfpack Mites made a strong showing in their tilt against Morristown. Brody Hallik was solid in goal despite minimal action due to the Wolfpack’s offensive assault. As it turned out, Wolfpack player Ryan Puco was pressed into service as Morristown’s goalie due to the opposition’s lack of a backstop, and performed admirably under constant pressure. Kyle Ladomirak notched a hat trick, Max Szpakowski had two goals while a third effort clanged off the post, and several other Wolfpack players also scored.

The Wolfpack PeeWees suffered their third loss of the season 8–2 to a tough Beacon Hill team. Steven Cardinal scored his first goal of the season. The team played their best game thus far, even with a short bench led by exceptional hustle games from Brendan Donlon and Lilith Hutchins. The Wolfpack look to regain their footing this Saturday against Hanover at noon.
