Wolfpack Softball Season Ends in Group Semis
West Morris Central's girls of summer end 2013 with sectional title to boast.
After outscoring its opponents 28-6 in four rounds of the North 2, Group 3 sectional tournament and hauling off a championship last Friday, the West Morris Central Wolfpack tested its mettle against the state's fourth-ranked Indian Hills squad Tuesday afternoon.
It took an extra inning and a pitcher's duel for the ages, but Central came out on the bottom side of the tilt, 2-1, in the Group semifinals.
Each team scored a run in the fourth inning, but Indian Hills walked off with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth. Wolfpack pitcher Jamie Fesinstine allowed two earned runs on five hits, striking out seven, giving her 419 punch outs in her 2-year varsity career.

On defense, Central had two errors, but senior Rebecca Raymond was a stalwart at shortstop, making a variety of plays and recording putouts all afternoon.
