Woman's Club Named Best in NJ 5 Times Over

Long Valley organization receives group and individual awards and accolades for annual work.

For decades, the Long Valley Woman’s Club has been serving the needs of local organizations through fundraisers and awareness.

Recently, the group was heralded for their efforts, garnering five award certificates  for “Best All Around Work” from the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs, according to a press release from the group.

During a spring luncheon in Mountain Lakes earlier this month, the Long Valley Women’s Club received accolades in the following categories:

  • Women’s History
  • Domestic Violence Awareness & Prevention
  • Public Issue Community Service Program
  • International Outreach Community Service Program
  • Home Life Community Service Program

In addition to the group honors, individuals from the Club also received Gold Awards in various categories.

Dorothy Walter won for her fudge and filled cookies; Irene Satow for her oil painting; and Linda Allgeier for her quilted baby blanket.

Blue Ribbons were awarded to Kathie Uber for her zucchini bread; Mary Lou Slowinski for her watercolor painting; and Janice Carruth for her pastel rendition.

The Long Valley Woman’s Club meets at noon the third Thursday of each month at Long Valley Presbyterian Church.
