There's a good reason why Madison is called "The Rose City." The heart of this presentation is a terrific documentary film by David Coultas on the spectacular rose industry in Madison, which ran roughly a century from 1856 into the early 1950s. By then, it was unable to compete with the growing power of foreign competitors. David's mother, Cathie Coultas, was the granddaughter of Joseph Ruzicka, a major force in the rose industry. Scheduled panelists include Carmasita Boyne, “Jimmy” Sodano, Art Heyl, and Pat Wells.  This lecture is free and open to the public.
