Madison Police Raise $1,000 To Fight Cancer
The Madison PBA sold pink badges throughout October. The money is going to the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center at Morristown Medical Center.

MADISON, NJ - For the past three years Madison Police Chief Darren Dachisen has worn pink on his uniform in October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The tradition saw Dachisen donning a pink badge and patch on his uniform throughout the month of to increase awareness of the disease. This year, Dachisen is sporting the pink badge and patch not only for those who have been affected by breast cancer, but also in memory of his late wife Mechele Rose Dachisen, who sadly lost her battle to cancer on Dec. 1, 2018.
The Madison PBA sold the limited edition Pink Police Patch to help support breast cancer education, early detection and treatment for $5 each. The fundraiser earned $1,000 and the money was donated to the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center at Morristown Medical Center – the same cancer center that took care of Mechele throughout her battle, officials said.
