Opera at Florham's 35th Anniversary Season Opening

Opera at Florham opens its 35th anniversary season on Sunday, September 18, 2016, at 2 PM in Lenfell Hall, The Mansion of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison. The season opens with a Musicale recital, “A Harvest of Music & Song”, presenting professional vocalists from across the United States performing classics and rarities of Opera and American Songbook weaved throughout with stories, history and facts about the music.

The Musicale features three distinguished performers: Maria Natale, soprano, Fanyong Du, tenor, and New Jersey native Matthew Ciuffitelli, baritone. The program explores music centered around redemption, transformation, and love. Highlights from the program include arias Sempre Libera from La Traviata, Bella siccome un angelo from Don Pasquale, along with Czardas and the duet, Die Uhr Duett, from Die Fledermaus among others. The performance ends with a series of solos and duets from the golden age of musical theater. Selections from Carousel, South Pacific, and The King and I will be performed.

Light refreshments are served at intermission with the chance to mingle and meet the artists. Attendees are encouraged to bring children and grandchildren, who are given the opportunity to meet and take pictures with the artists. Children as always admitted free of charge and must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets are $30 for regular admission, $25 for seniors, and $5 for students. Special rates are available for Groups of 10 or more at $20 per ticket.
