Streaming Services at the Madison Public Library

New services at the library

MPL has made major strides towards modern technology in the past year. The biggest new offering? Streaming services similar to Netflix and Hulu. We now offer the following services: Kanopy, Hoopla, and RBdigital. These services are available to Madison Public Library members only.

Each source offers something different and has its own unique vibe. All offer kids and adult programming.

Kanopy offers what the New York Times calls “a garden of cinematic delights,” Kanopy showcases more than 30,000 of the world’s best films, including award-winning documentaries, rare and hard-to-find titles, film festival favorites, indie and classic films, and world cinema with collections from Kino Lorber, Music Box Films, Samuel Goldwyn, The Orchard, The Great Courses, PBS and thousands of independent filmmakers.

Hoopla offers TV shows, movies, music, comics, audio books and e-books. In addition to offering world-class entertainment, Hoopla creates opportunities for patrons to connect with fellow readers and community members through library programs like hoopla Book Club, STEAM education and themed content series.

RBdigital is probably the most unique of our new services. RBdigital offers the popular Acorn TV, The Great Courses, Pongalo (Spanish Language TV) and IndieFlix. In addition to streaming services RBdigital offers Method Test Prep to prepare students for the ACT/SAT. It also offers LearnItLive. LearnItLive allows users to register for live streamed classes through the RBdigital app. Lastly, RB offers digital comics, digital magazines and audio books.
