Bergen Detectives Nab Perth Amboy Man With Child Porn: Prosecutor

Bergen County detectives busted a man who was charged with distributing more than 1,000 child pornograhy files, authorities announced Friday.

Jimmy Rivera, 41, a print shop worker from Perth Amboy was arrested after members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Cyber Crimes Unit recovered thousands of files of child pornography following a monthslong investigation, said acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo.

The files belonged to an unknown internet user from Middlesex County, who was later determined to be Rivera, Calo said. The investigation revealed that Rivera viewed, download and distribute the files, which depicted "nude and sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children," he said.

Rivera was arrested in Perth Amboy. He was charged with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, distribution of child pornography in an amount greater than 1,000 files and second-degree possession of child pornography in an amount greater than 1,000 files.

Rivera was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing March 19, Calo said.
